UMBRELLAS WITH UV PROTECTION.

PROTECTION FROM RAIN & SUN

Selected Knirps umbrellas not only offer reliable protection from the rain, but also shield you from harmful UV rays. We distinguish between models with built-in UV protection and those that are additionally equipped with the innovative Knirps Heat Shield®. This makes your Knirps umbrella a versatile companion—whether you’re facing a sudden rain shower or bright sunshine.

In addition, the Heat Shield blocks more than 99.95% of harmful UVA and UVB rays, offers a sun protection factor of UPF 50+, and, thanks to its anti-glare feature, simultaneously protects the eyes from bright sunlight.

Protect your skin

The SPF is used as a multiplier for the skin's natural protection time and indicates how long one can effectively stay in the sun while wearing the textile without suffering skin damage. Similar to the SPF of sunscreens, it serves as the basis for calculating the skin's so-called natural protection.

This varies greatly depending on skin type. For example, a person with skin type I, who has red or blond hair, blue eyes, and a very fair complexion, has a natural protection time of about five to ten minutes.

If you spend a long time in direct sunlight without protection, you risk getting a dangerous sunburn. By wearing clothing with SPF 50 UV protection, you can extend your time in the sun by a factor of fifty without causing skin damage—that is, to about 5 hours (50 × 5 min = 250 min).

The UV protection of Knirps umbrellas has been tested in accordance with the Australian/New Zealand standard AS/NZS 4399:2017
